Float for the Antwerp Procession: apotheosis of Antwerp (the Maagdenberg). Eight virgins sit on the sloping sides of the float; they all hold a standard or shield. Seated at the top, under a canopy, is another female figure; her throne is set on a castle (Antwerp castle?) At the bottom, in the centre, a step has been left open, between two newel posts with a flowerpot. Mercury, the god of trade, is standing on the lower right-hand corner of the float, and another figure is standing on the left.
