Design for the main altar of St. Augustine’s Church in Antwerp, before 1701

Inventory number: CVH 378
Bollaert & Moortgat

Design in perspective for the main altar of St. Augustine’s Church in Antwerp: in the centre is a simple altar on a small step, on which there is a Baroque tabernacle; above this hangs a painting (not filled in), with another segmental fronton above that, in which there are statues of angels; right at the top, there is a depiction of a bishop, probably St. Augustine. In front of the altar, diagonally to the left and right, are two columns, joined together at the top by a cornice. The space between them is intended for a door and a window.
