Measurements of the high altar of St. Bernard’s Abbey in Antwerp

Measurements of the high altar of St. Bernard’s Abbey in Hemiksem, with a simplified representation of statues and ornaments. In the centre, there is a depiction of the Ascension of the Virgin: below it is the open shrine with a number of Apostles around it, and above it, at the level of the cornice, the Virgin is ascending to heaven, surrounded by angels. At the bottom left and right, there is a depiction of a Benedictine saint. Some steps lead to the altar. The altar is crowned with a crown that is held by two angels, and is supported by two legs; in between them, in a triangle, is the all-seeing eye of God, surrounded by an aureole. Under the elevation of the altar, there is a drawing of the plan and a scale indication.
