Design: a monumental tomb in the form of a sarcophagus, on a base with volutes ending in lion’s paws, resting on a trestle-table, to which a canvas is fastened, intended as an inscription table with, as the initial letters, DOM. On the sarcophagus is a medallion with, on the front, a portrait, in relief, of a man, held up, for all to see, by two putti. On the pedestal of the sarcophagus is a medallion with four figures: the Parcae (the Roman goddesses of fate or destiny) with the metaphorical threads of life(?).
