The Altar of Our Lady in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, in perspective; the statue of the Virgin is quite high up in the centre: the Virgin is represented with the Child and with a crown and palm branch; under her is the serpent, surrounded by the four symbols of the Evangelists. Above the statue of the Virgin, the Holy Ghost is represented as a dove. Above that, at the height of the broken fronton, three angels are holding a crown. And finally, the altar is crowned with an aureole, in which God the Father is sitting, and on which angels are sitting at the ends, each with an attribute.
