Design for a monstrance depicting the Transfiguration of Christ

Inventory number: CVH 338/24
Bollaert & Moortgat

Design for a monstrance: the decorated base offers two alternative designs; the pyx of the monstrance is in the middle of an aureole, in which God the Father appears at the top with a globe and surrounded by putti, who are holding a heavy crown; on the upper left, Moses is depicted with the tablets of stone and on the upper left is Elias, holding a sword. At the bottom, the three Apostles are kneeling in adoration. A scale indication is given in pen on the right-hand edge, and in sanguine on the left-hand edge.
