Design for a carved frame of a doorway with religious motifs

Inventory number: CVH 312 recto
Bollaert & Moortgat

Design for a carved frame of a doorway, with religious motifs: on the left, between caryatid terms, a relief meant to portray Faith; on the right, a different project: two dissimilar pilasters, the first one with ornamentation in relief and, on the right, a fluted Ionic pilaster; between both, inside an oval, the Fortitudo. Over the full length of the doorway, the beholder has a good depth of field, extending as far as a statue of Saint Peter.
